Iconic Rock Band The Smashing Pumpkins Announce Debut India Performances As Part Of Rock Invasion 2025 Asia Tour

In a thrilling announcement for rock fans across the country, India’s leading live entertainment company, EVA Live, is set to bring The Smashing Pumpkins to Indian stages for the very first time. The iconic alternative rock band will debut in India as part of their ‘Rock Invasion 2025’ Asia Tour, with two explosive concerts scheduled in Bangalore on 11th October 2025 at Transform Arena and Mumbai on 12th October 2025 at Jio World Garden.

Marking a milestone in India’s live music scene, this long-awaited debut will see The Smashing Pumpkins deliver a career-spanning setlist—featuring cult favorites like “Tonight, Tonight,” “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” “Today,” and “1979”—alongside tracks from their newer, experimental works like ATUM and the recently acclaimed Aghori Mhori Mei, including hits such as “Sighommi” and “Beguiled.”

The Rock Invasion 2025 tour kicks off in Japan this September and includes stops in Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Busan, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi—culminating in India. This marks the band’s first return to Asia in over a decade, and their first-ever performances in the Middle East and India, making it a landmark tour for fans across the region.

“We’re thrilled to finally be coming to India, some 36 years after we started in Chicago,” said the band in a statement. “Our music has been unmistakably shaped by this great and mighty culture, and so it will be an honour to play for you—and loudly! For what we hope will be the first of many, many trips to come.”

Deepak Chaudhary, Founder and Managing Director of EVA Live, shared, “Bringing The Smashing Pumpkins to India for the very first time is a landmark moment for the live music scene here. This is a dream come true for countless fans who’ve waited decades for this. India is ready, and we promise an unforgettable experience.”

Sameer Dhanrajani, CEO of 3AI, added, “AI-native GCCs are emerging as strategic growth engines—and in that spirit of innovation and cultural evolution, Hyderabad stands as the perfect venue to celebrate game-changing moments like this.”

Prashanth Nandella, President, HYSEA, said, “Hyderabad continues to lead as a destination for next-gen innovation, and Rock Invasion 2025 reflects the city’s vibrant cultural and technological identity.”

About The Smashing Pumpkins:

Formed in Chicago in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins are one of the most influential rock bands of all time, with over 30 million albums sold worldwide. Their genre-defying sound and visual artistry have earned them two GRAMMY® Awards, seven MTV VMAs, and an American Music Award.

Their critically acclaimed discography includes:

  • Gish (1991) – Platinum
  • Siamese Dream (1993) – Quadruple Platinum
  • Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995) – Diamond
  • Adore (1998) – Platinum
  • Machina/The Machines of God (2000) – Gold

Rolling Stone has listed Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness among the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” Their aesthetic legacy—like the “Zero” shirt, “1979” music video, and emotionally charged performances—continues to inspire new generations of rock fans.

Following the success of their Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour and recent albums like CYR (2020) and ATUM (2023), the band’s 2024 release Aghori Mhori Mei marks a powerful return to their raw, guitar-driven roots—reuniting original members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha.
