January 18, 2024 – Bhubaneswar-based aerial logistics drone startup BonV Aero secured a noteworthy INR 6 Crore funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The funds are earmarked for client demonstrations, team expansion, and internal R&D aimed at enhancing products, researching propulsion systems, and advancing power plants.

BonV Aero specializes in cutting-edge electric vehicles for goods and passenger transportation, particularly designed for challenging terrains like the Himalayas. The startup focuses on critical areas such as Indian defense logistics, disaster relief, emergency medical services, supply chain logistics, and rapid commerce deliveries, positioning itself as a brand synonymous with top-tier safety and unparalleled convenience in aerial transportation.

The startup’s journey has seen notable achievements, including being among the top 3 finalists on the “Meet the Drapers” TV Show in the USA. The leadership team, led by Satyabrata Satapathy (CEO & Co-founder), brings diverse expertise from renowned companies like Asteria Aerospace, Bosch Automotive, and ISRO.

Madhukar Bhardwaj, Sr. Vice President at Inflection Point Ventures, emphasized the significance of BonV Aero’s state-of-the-art technology in aerial logistics, praising its clean, smart, sustainable, safe, and affordable drones. BonV Aero stands out for creating India’s first logistic aerial vehicle, capable of autonomously carrying 50 kilos over 10 kilometers at 10,000 feet in hilly regions, backed by commercial orders. Presently, the startup is conducting product trials with the Indian Army.

Satyabrata Satapathy, CEO & Co-Founder of BonV Aero, expressed gratitude for IPV’s support, highlighting that the funds would be deployed to mature their current Aerial Platform and conduct demonstrations for scaling orders. The startup is incubated at AIC CV Raman Global University, Odisha, and has garnered support from institutions like IIT Mandi, IIT Bhubaneswar, HDFC CSR Social Impact Grant, and collaborations with respected entities like the Indian Army’s Army Design Bureau (ADB), IITs, Headstart Network Foundation, and NITI Aayog. The logistic aerial vehicle market in India is estimated at $6.7 billion, with the global market projected to reach $44 billion by 2027.
