Boon Collaborates with Niti Aayog to Revolutionize Water Resource Management

– The collaboration seeks to enable urban local authorities to make well-informed choices regarding the distribution and utilization of water resources.

National, September 12, 2023: Boon, the global IoT-enabled water-tech startup, is excited to announce its strategic partnership with India’s esteemed policy think-tank, ‘Niti Aayog,’ through the AatmaNirbhar Bharat ARISE-ANIC program. This collaboration is dedicated to advancing impactful research and innovation within the water sector, with a focus on developing cutting-edge solutions for efficient water resource management, waste reduction, and tackling issues like water leakage and theft.

The primary objective of this partnership is to transform India’s water management landscape by harnessing advanced technologies. Currently, a significant 40% of water supply is lost due to leakage and unauthorized usage, as reported by ASSOCHAM. Boon’s collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs involves the creation of water pressure sensing systems for real-time monitoring of water supply lines. These systems are instrumental in identifying leaks, detecting illegal activities, and optimizing planned pressure in water distribution networks. Boon’s dedication to innovation has earned recognition from NITI Aayog, which has nominated Boon to lead efforts in providing innovative solutions to address the pressing water crisis.

Dr. Vibha Tripathi, MD of Boon, emphasized the transformative potential of this partnership in water management. She stated, “This collaboration exemplifies how partnerships can drive positive change in water management. Our mission is to combine resources with Niti Aayog to advance technological solutions for sustainable drinking water.”

As India’s premier think-tank, Niti Aayog has been a staunch advocate for sustainability and effective water management. It actively promotes the adoption of water-saving technologies to create a more water-secure and environmentally friendly future. Through this partnership, Boon aims to empower authorities and communities to make informed decisions regarding water distribution and usage, contributing significantly to water conservation. This initiative underscores Boon’s commitment to #BetteryourWater, fostering innovation, sustainability, and responsible water management.
